After having played for 15 minutes, Matt Oldroyd managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ponteland United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matt Oldroyd was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ryan Hubbard in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leon Hinshelwood saved Harringay City from getting behind. In the 17th minute, Andre Frain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Brad Moss managed to get in a good position for a shot. Harringay City's supporters rose to their feet, but Brad Moss was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Liam Long breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Matt Oldroyd sped through Harringay City's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Leon Hinshelwood. The supporters of Harringay City booed when Ponteland United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glenn Leeson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brad Moss in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Liam Long prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Karl Seaward sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ryan Hubbard made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Karl Seaward kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Liam Long. That made the score 1-2 in the 53 minute of play. In the 55th match minute, Ponteland United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ryan Hubbard to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute, Matt Oldroyd got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 65thth minute of the game Karl Seaward who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ponteland United's Liam Long was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Brad Moss could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Liam Long made a huge save. Harringay City's Brad Moss got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 95 minutes into the game, Harringay City's Brad Moss nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Liam Long made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Harringay City eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
