Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jonathon Griggs kicked off to start the match. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gretafe FC's goalkeeper Ged Martindale, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Eadfs booed when Gretafe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orson Osborn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thom Corbridge recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Thom Dryden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gretafe FC's goalkeeper Ged Martindale, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thom Dryden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 26 minutes, Oliver Jefferies managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eadfs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oliver Jefferies was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Johnnie Sadler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Ged Martindale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Thom Corbridge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Thom Corbridge notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Gretafe FC's Ged Martindale. Ged Martindale was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 41 minutes into the game, Johnnie Sadler was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Eadfs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gretafe FC the free kick. After 41 played minutes Eadfs got a freekick which was hit by Johnnie Sadler. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathon Griggs in the 42nd minute of play forced Eadfs's goalkeeper Kenny Hutchinson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kenny Hutchinson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albert Wybrow in the 43rd minute of play. If Thom Dryden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thom Corbridge's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 47thth minute, Ged Martindale skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thom Corbridge made a kick off. A collision led to Gretafe FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Albert Wybrow hit a great ball. Eadfs's Freddie Parslow got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thom Corbridge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ged Martindale having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Thom Corbridge managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eadfs's supporters rose to their feet, but Thom Corbridge was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ged Martindale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Gretafe FC's zone, Oliver Jefferies stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ged Martindale came out of the goal and Oliver Jefferies tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Thom Corbridge managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eadfs's supporters rose to their feet, but Thom Corbridge was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ged Martindale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Thom Corbridge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oliver Jefferies received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Ged Martindale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thom Corbridge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ged Martindale having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Jonathon Griggs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 82 minutes into the match, Eadfs's goalkeeper Kenny Hutchinson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Albert Wybrow. Eadfs's Thom Corbridge got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ged Martindale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliver Jefferies in the 87th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Thom Corbridge's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ged Martindale was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. In the 91st match minute, Gretafe FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martyn Dimmock to maneuver through the defense. Freddie Parslow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
