Spectators: 6728 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ronan Nevin got the match started through his kick off. After 7 played minutes Richings Park got a freekick which was hit by Tris Needham. In the 9th minute, Brian Fairs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the game, Malcolm Corrigan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Richings Park's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Billericay the free kick. Malcolm Corrigan hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. With his leg Noel Renwick managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Billericay's Jimmy Phippard fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jimmy Phippard got free with Noel Renwick in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 23rd match minute, Billericay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Verne Matthews to maneuver through the defense. Richings Park's Tris Needham got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jimmy Phippard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Noel Renwick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Matthew Saxton made a precise shot to the right of Pat Pitts. Billericay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Jimmy Phippard took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Noel Renwick. Noel Renwick dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Pat Pitts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matthew Saxton, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. If Wes Nicholls had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Billericay's zone, Malcolm Corrigan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pat Pitts came out of the goal and Malcolm Corrigan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Billericay's goalkeeper Pat Pitts, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Matthew Saxton came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Richings Park fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matthew Saxton couldn't finish the play. Wes Nicholls received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Pat Pitts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 65 minutes into the game, Richings Park's Matthew Saxton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pat Pitts made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Matthew Saxton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pat Pitts having to interfere. If Ronan Nevin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 75 played minutes Richings Park got a freekick which was hit by Ritchie Thorne. A collision led to Richings Park getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Wes Nicholls hit a great ball. Malcolm Corrigan kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Verne Matthews shot a long shot in the 80th minute and a light blocked Noel Renwick hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 2-2. Matthew Saxton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pat Pitts having to interfere. After having played for 90 minutes, Matthew Saxton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Richings Park's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matthew Saxton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Billericay succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Richings Park had controlled the match.
