Spectators: 7394 (Terracing: 5644, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 20) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Shaun Hornsby started the match with the kick off. After having played for 4 minutes, Shaun Hornsby managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chilcompton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shaun Hornsby was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The long shot by Kelvin Verity in the 12th minute really tested Martyn Fowler's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Andy Johnson charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Andy Johnson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Andy Johnson kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Giorgos Bletsios showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darryl Parks in the 14th minute of the match. Dom Dodd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Giorgos Bletsios tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shaun Hornsby in the 21stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Martyn Fowler, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Charlie Hilditch kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Chilcompton's Andy Johnson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Martyn Fowler. Martyn Fowler yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. When Chilcompton's Shaun Hornsby in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kingsbridge's goalie prevented a goal. Martyn Fowler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Foggarty in the 31st minute of play. Shaun Hornsby took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Martyn Fowler. Martyn Fowler dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The Chilcompton fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Chilcompton's Shaun Hornsby looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Shaun Hornsby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Martyn Fowler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andy Johnson got free with Martyn Fowler in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

After 53 played minutes Kingsbridge got a freekick which was hit by Byron Jenkinson. If Byron Jenkinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shaun Hornsby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martyn Fowler having to interfere. Eddy Yeo hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute, Andy Johnson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chilcompton fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. When Kelvin Verity came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Chilcompton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kelvin Verity couldn't finish the play. Shaun Hornsby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martyn Fowler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Cantona in the 85th minute of the match. After 89th play minutes Shaun Hornsby shot 8-0, a short shot which went by Martyn Fowler and just under the crossbar into goal. A collision led to Kingsbridge getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Keanu Bromley hit a great ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Chilcompton had played much better football throughout.
