After a rather tough play, Tynemouth Spartans FC's Kris Harrad got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 9th minute Les Bell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josh Cheetham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Tynemouth Spartans FC's Les Bell in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee showed Jerry Storry the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Congresbury booed when Tynemouth Spartans FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerry Storry didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stuart Featherstone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jack Robson in the 22nd minute of play. After 25 minutes, Les Bell made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Congresbury's Josh Cheetham tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 27th minute, Benjani Mwaruwari got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Les Bell succeeded in the game's 29th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Les Bell took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Josh Cheetham. Josh Cheetham dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 39th minute Austin Haskell collided with an opponent which caused him a fractured collar bone. 39 minutes into the game, Les Bell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tynemouth Spartans FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Congresbury the free kick. In the 40th match minute, Tynemouth Spartans FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Les Bell to maneuver through the defense. Roger McRobbie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedro Garlick to make the kick off. Josh Cheetham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benjani Mwaruwari, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Les Bell did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-4 to the left of a surprised Josh Cheetham 57 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benjani Mwaruwari in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Josh Cheetham prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 61 minutes, Jack Robson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Congresbury and the Tynemouth Spartans FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Les Bell's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Josh Cheetham skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Josh Cheetham made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Les Bell sent off a good shot on target. Josh Cheetham didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Les Bell went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. Les Bell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josh Cheetham having to interfere. In the 79th minute of the match, Benjani Mwaruwari tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Josh Cheetham saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 81st minute of the match Leon Renwick sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Josh Cheetham skillfully saved the ball. After 82 minutes, Benjani Mwaruwari made it 1-6 with a short kick to the right side. Congresbury's Josh Cheetham tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Les Bell took a quick shot and it went in 1-7 without a chance for Josh Cheetham to make any attempt to save it. The Congresbury supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Tynemouth Spartans FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Tynemouth Spartans FC.
