Andrew Carr showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blair Fordham in the 44th minute of the match. Jacob Burkinshaw showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alf Christie, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Alf Christie made the kick off in the second half. Wolverhampton's Ron Wild couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Keele. Wolverhampton's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Blair Fordham scored to the left of an out of position Andrew Carr, making the score, 1-1. Jack Midgley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shawn Ash's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jacob Burkinshaw read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Keele's Alistair Fleetham got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 96th minute, Keele's Blair Fordham dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Keele eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
