Brendon Alderson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reg Foster in the 14th minute of the match. When Marcelino Tibalt in the 17th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Roger Pitts kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Travis Wilkins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Pitts having to interfere. After some careless play in the Liscard defense, Travis Wilkins kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roger Pitts. The Liscard fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roger Pitts should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Basil Camfield kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Roger Pitts. That made the score 3-0 in the 34 minute of play. Roger Pitts made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Ulryk Dropinski sent off a good shot on target. Marcelino Tibalt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Roger Pitts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcelino Tibalt to make the kick off. Wood Green AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Roger Morrison was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roger Pitts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcelino Tibalt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A wasted opportunity for Wood Green AFC. 93 minutes into the match, Liscard's goal looked a bit too open when Ulryk Dropinski came free, but Roger Pitts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 97th minute Marcelino Tibalt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger Pitts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wood Green AFC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
