After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Wayne Hopton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lymington's supporters rose to their feet, but Wayne Hopton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iain Crittenden breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wally Gomersall hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute, Wayne Hopton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lymington fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Austen Ainsworth kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Daryl Reynolds hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Iain Crittenden didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Warren Foley went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Iain Crittenden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Warren Foley in the 28th minute of play. When Wayne Hopton came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Lymington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wayne Hopton couldn't finish the play. In the 33rd minute Ronnie Oldham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Lockwood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Cambridge United getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Ronnie Oldham hit a great ball. Warren Foley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iain Crittenden having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Warren Foley to make the kick off. Felix Lockwood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronnie Oldham in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute, Pierce Hill got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 55 minutes into the match, Lymington's goal looked a bit too open when Ronnie Oldham came free, but Felix Lockwood reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lymington's goalkeeper Felix Lockwood, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Felix Lockwood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierce Hill in the 58th minute of the match. In the 62ndth minute of the game Pierce Hill who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lymington's Felix Lockwood was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Cambridge United booed when Lymington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Hall didn't get a good kick on the ball.
