The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pierre Purvis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sid Harding in the 12th minute of play forced Yarm FC's goalkeeper Pierre Purvis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pierre Purvis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fraser Stockley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peter Potterton kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. When Gordon Long fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Coombe City's protests and gave Gordon Long a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Yarm FC booed when Coombe City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gordon Long didn't get a good kick on the ball. Travis Wilberforce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Les Nelson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 19 played minutes Coombe City got a freekick which was hit by Fraser Stockley. Owen Beck struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Les Nelson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yarm FC. The supporters of Coombe City booed when Yarm FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carl Heath didn't get a good kick on the ball. Owen Beck who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Les Nelson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Les Nelson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Travis Wilberforce's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Travis Wilberforce's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Les Nelson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Travis Wilberforce stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The Yarm FC fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when Yarm FC's Travis Wilberforce looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 56th minute, Travis Wilberforce left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Yarm FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. After having played for 63 minutes, Travis Wilberforce managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yarm FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Travis Wilberforce was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Owen Beck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Les Nelson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Travis Wilberforce came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Yarm FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Travis Wilberforce couldn't finish the play. Gordon Long was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 68 minutes into the match. After 68 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Coombe City! Glenn Sissons shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Owen Beck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Les Nelson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Owen Beck's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Les Nelson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Les Nelson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Travis Wilberforce went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Owen Beck's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Les Nelson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Coombe City's Fraser Stockley got a free kick in the 87th minute. Travis Wilberforce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fraser Stockley during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 94 played minutes Coombe City got a freekick which was hit by Fraser Stockley. 95 minutes into the match, Owen Beck notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Coombe City's Les Nelson. Les Nelson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Yarm FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
