Spectators: 6722 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1722, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Glen Alderson started the match with the kick off. When Houghton Regis FC's Stuart Plummer in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bethnal Green and Hackney's goalie prevented a goal. After 5 played minutes Houghton Regis FC got a freekick which was hit by Jack Dunne. Jack Dunne scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Peter Phelps, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Glen Aldersons short, quick shot in the 11thth minute got Beinn Rushforth to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 17th minute, Aaron Bator got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 22nd minute, Seb Plant left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bethnal Green and Hackney fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Beinn Rushforth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Glen Alderson in the 26th minute of play. Bethnal Green and Hackney's Peter Phelps played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fitz Trunks in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bethnal Green and Hackney's goalkeeper Peter Phelps, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peter Phelps made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaron Bator in the 42nd minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stuart Plummer made a kick off. When the match clock showed 55 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Seb Plant sped through Houghton Regis FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Beinn Rushforth. After a rather tough play, Houghton Regis FC's Jack Dunne got a free kick in the 58th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Aaron Bator could shoot a difficult shot in the 64th minute, which Peter Phelps however easily saved by the left post. In the 71st minute Glen Alderson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beinn Rushforth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Glen Alderson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Beinn Rushforth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Houghton Regis FC's goalkeeper Beinn Rushforth, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Beinn Rushforth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Seb Plant, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Glen Alderson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Beinn Rushforth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glen Alderson, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Bethnal Green and Hackney's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
