Bradley Whitmore showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John-Paul Hamer in the 31st minute of the match. If Jude Burton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manchester United's Bradley Whitmore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tod Evans in the 45th minute of play. When Freddy Fish fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Blackfen's protests and gave Freddy Fish a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Blackfen getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Freddy Fish hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Jude Burton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester United's supporters rose to their feet, but Jude Burton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Harvey Lowndes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tod Evans was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, John-Paul Hamer notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Manchester United's Bradley Whitmore. Bradley Whitmore was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that John-Paul Hamer couldn't finish the play.
