The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremy Radcliffe during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jeremy Radcliffe hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Kris Beck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 21 minutes in the game, Bruce Elliott fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Lance Strickland having to interfere. Kris Beck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kris Beck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Lance Strickland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martyn Thomas's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Lance Strickland firmly grabbed it by the left post. Barrie Boxall might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Phil Bannister. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Barrie Boxall ran back to his position shaking his head. Lance Strickland made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kris Beck in the 44th minute. If Tod Amos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kris Beck to make the kick off. When Barrie Boxall came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Baston fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barrie Boxall couldn't finish the play. Silvester Nightingale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil Bannister having to interfere. Phil Bannister made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremy Radcliffe in the 56th minute of play. Baston's Lance Strickland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kris Beck in the 61st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Heathrow Airport United's Martyn Thomas got a free kick in the 67th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Baston's zone, Kris Beck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lance Strickland came out of the goal and Kris Beck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Barrie Boxall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil Bannister having to interfere. Kris Beck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Lance Strickland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Kris Beck notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Baston's Lance Strickland. Lance Strickland was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Silvester Nightingale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Lance Strickland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kris Beck in the 94th minute of play. Baston's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
