An unexpectedly hard shot by Tyler Selby in the 12th minute of play forced Birstall Bombers's goalkeeper Linus Örtendal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Tyler Selby's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Linus Örtendal was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. If Jerome Le Tissier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jerome Le Tissier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Greg Ablethorpe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Craig Crowell in the 40th minute of the match. If Craig Crowell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jerome Le Tissier to strike the kick off in the second half. Cowplain United's Greg Ablethorpe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Cowplain United from getting a goal against them. If Jerome Le Tissier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Linus Örtendal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vern Mullen, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Cowplain United's zone, Craig Crowell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Greg Ablethorpe came out of the goal and Craig Crowell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Stevie Branson came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Birstall Bombers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stevie Branson couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Cowplain United defense, Jerome Le Tissier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Greg Ablethorpe. The Cowplain United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Greg Ablethorpe should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tyler Selby in the 80th minute of play forced Birstall Bombers's goalkeeper Linus Örtendal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Greg Ablethorpe came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Birstall Bombers's Jerome Le Tissier. But to his dismay, Jerome Le Tissier quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Greg Ablethorpe stood somewhat misplaced when Jerome Le Tissier came free in front of goal and shot 0-4 to the left of him in the 84 minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Birstall Bombers's Stevie Branson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Greg Ablethorpe. That made the score 0-5 after 87 minutes of play. Birstall Bombers's Stevie Branson got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cowplain United's goalkeeper Greg Ablethorpe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Cowplain United fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Birstall Bombers were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
