Stratford Rivers's Sly Titmuss proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Stratford Rivers from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Stratford Rivers's zone, Martyn Darby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sly Titmuss came out of the goal and Martyn Darby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ib Kierch could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Sly Titmuss made a huge save. Denzil Perkins kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. With a little luck, Stratford Rivers's Sly Titmuss got control of the ball when Joaquim Macedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sly Titmuss made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martyn Darby in the 22nd minute of play. Ib Kierch took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sly Titmuss. Sly Titmuss dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After having played for 31 minutes, Joaquim Macedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sandy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joaquim Macedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ben Scott showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dale Elvins, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Robert Beardsley kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Stratford Rivers made a substitution. Vern Parkinson replaced Dale Elvins. Robert Beardsley hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. A collision led to Sandy getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Robert Beardsley hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulo Peyo made a kick off. Ben Scott showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vern Parkinson, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Sly Titmuss took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ib Kierch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ib Kierch kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Ib Kierch scored 3-0 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sly Titmuss, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 72nd minute Ib Kierch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sly Titmuss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquim Macedo scored 4-0 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sly Titmuss, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Macedo in the 79th minute of play forced Stratford Rivers's goalkeeper Sly Titmuss to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Stratford Rivers's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Macedo came free, but Sly Titmuss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martyn Darby kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Ragnar Abrahamsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 96 played minutes Sandy got a freekick which was hit by Denzil Perkins. Ben Scott made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bobby Willets in the 97th minute. The Sandy support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
