After a rather tough play, New Milton's Martyn Hughes got a free kick in the 4th minute. A collision led to Market Harborough FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Ozzy Paget hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Tod Horseman kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ivan Little. That made the score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. After 11 played minutes New Milton got a freekick which was hit by Darryl Markham. Ivor Schofield fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Boothroyd having to interfere. In the 16th minute, Tod Horseman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ruben Boothroyd didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joe Hanley went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. New Milton's Ruben Boothroyd played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivor Schofield in the 24th minute of play. Ruben Boothroyd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Marsden in the 36th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Market Harborough FC's Geoff Hurdle got a free kick in the 37th minute. The long shot by Chaz Pringle in the 38th minute really tested Ivan Little's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivor Schofield in the 44th minute of play forced New Milton's goalkeeper Ruben Boothroyd to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Frank Marsden made the kick off in the second half. Tod Horseman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Ivan Little tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, New Milton's Ruben Boothroyd got control of the ball when Ivor Schofield tried to sneak it across the goal line. Frank Marsden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ivor Schofield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Darryl Markham in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivan Little prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ruben Boothroyd made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Ivor Schofield sent off a good shot on target. Tod Horseman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Darryl Markham blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ivan Little having to make a save. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
