Spectators: 6716 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1716, VIP seats: 0) Liphook AFC's Ethan Fenton started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fordham were furious when Vincent Daly was red carded, 10 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 11th minute, Vincent Daly hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frank Steele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ty Hanley, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After 13 minutes, Julian Ramsden mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fordham and the Liphook AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ethan Fenton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronan Swanson got free with Frank Steele in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 20th minute Ethan Fenton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Steele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 25 minutes, Ethan Fenton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liphook AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ethan Fenton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ethan Fenton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Steele having to interfere. Jonathon Reeves short, quick shot in the 30thth minute got Frank Steele to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Dean Challis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ethan Fenton might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frank Steele. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ethan Fenton ran back to his position shaking his head. Verne Willets made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dean Challis in the 41st minute of play. Dean Challis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Frank Steele stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ethan Fenton's shot from short distance in the 49th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dean Challis was the one to do the kick off. Ethan Fenton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 55 minutes into the match, Liphook AFC's Ethan Fenton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frank Steele narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fordham's Frank Steele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathon Reeve in the 62nd minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Jonathon Reeve notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Fordham's Frank Steele. Frank Steele was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dean Challis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Verne Willets tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Julian Ramsden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 74 played minutes Liphook AFC got a freekick which was hit by Vinnie Wells. In the 75th minute of the match, Dean Challis got a very nice opportunity to score, but Verne Willets was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Fordham's Frank Steele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ethan Fenton in the 77th minute of play. Dean Challis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Verne Willets having to interfere. Devon Topham kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Frank Steele took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ethan Fenton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Liphook AFC's zone, Dean Challis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Verne Willets came out of the goal and Dean Challis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frank Steele took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathon Reeve, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Jonathon Reeve managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liphook AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonathon Reeve was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frank Steele breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Frank Steele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ethan Fenton in the 93rd minute of the match. Fordham's Frank Steele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Devon Topham in the 98th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Liphook AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Fordham had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
