Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) Wimborne's Sam Page started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Stew Booth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blair Gray saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Blair Gray made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Kev Floyd sent off a good shot on target. In the 7th minute, Damien Thackray hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kev Floyd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Blair Gray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Aldershot City's Damien Thackray got a free kick in the 14th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Sam Page had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Perry Maylett. Aldershot City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sam Page was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 19th minute Stew Booth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blair Gray saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 20 minutes, Stew Booth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aldershot City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stew Booth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Page in the 23rd minute of play forced Aldershot City's goalkeeper Perry Maylett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Blair Gray showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stew Booth, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sam Page in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Perry Maylett saved Aldershot City from getting behind. Aldershot City's Stew Booth got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stew Booth to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Jimmy Jenkinson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wimborne's supporters rose to their feet, but Jimmy Jenkinson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Perry Maylett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 53 minutes into the match, Kev Floyd notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Wimborne's Blair Gray. Blair Gray was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Blair Gray stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stew Booth's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Stew Booth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute, Rex Bridgeworth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Russell Homes's late challenge caught a Aldershot City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Russell Homes helped the player get up and apologised. Russell Homes hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Carlton Bakewell, 68 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Kev Floyd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Beinn Senior hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Wimborne's Olly Brearley tried to score from far away in the 84th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Perry Maylett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sam Page in the 89th minute of the match. Kev Floyd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rex Bridgeworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Perry Maylett having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rod Parrott during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rod Parrott hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
