After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Brendon Bannister managed to get in a good position for a shot. Earl Shilton FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Brendon Bannister was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chaz King breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 11 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Brentford FC! Basil Hislop placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Chaz King showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brendon Bannister, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Pat Steed charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pat Steed the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Earl Shilton FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Pat Steed hit a great ball. Jonathan Hayward showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darius Mayfield in the 29th minute of the match. Sean Kempson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chaz King having to interfere. Brendon Bannister received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Chaz King tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sean Kempson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Chaz King tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stew Parkinson hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. If Darius Mayfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brendon Bannister fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chaz King having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Earl Shilton FC's goalkeeper Jonathan Hayward had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lenny Winterbottom. Darius Mayfield fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Hayward having to interfere. In the 74th minute of the match Nicky Shilton shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Hayward showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Earl Shilton FC's Jonathan Hayward proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Earl Shilton FC from getting a goal against them. Earl Shilton FC's Jonathan Hayward played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darius Mayfield in the 80th minute of play. A hard shot by Conan Barnes from long distance, 82 minutes into the match, got Jonathan Hayward's attention.
