Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dan Woodman made the kick off and thus started the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Woodman in the 4th minute of play forced Capel City's goalkeeper Sean Challis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capel City's goalkeeper Sean Challis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Capel City's zone, Eddy Prutton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sean Challis came out of the goal and Eddy Prutton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sean Challis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eddy Prutton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sean Challis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddy Prutton in the 28th minute of the match. After 28 played minutes Capel City got a freekick which was hit by Graeme Pilkington. Dan Woodman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sean Challis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. If Eddy Prutton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sean Challis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eddy Prutton went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Dan Woodman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Sean Challis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Haslemere FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bradley Rowling to make the kick off. Dan Woodman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Sean Challis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dan Woodman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eddy Prutton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Sean Challis made a huge save. Sean Challis made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Eddy Prutton sent off a good shot on target. After 57 minutes, Abraham Blackwood mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Capel City and the Haslemere FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 57th minute, Abraham Blackwood hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Malcolm Jenkinson's late challenge caught a Capel City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Malcolm Jenkinson helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Haslemere FC's Malcolm Jenkinson got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Jeff Yeo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Capel City's Sean Challis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dan Woodman in the 67th minute of play. In the 70thth minute of the game Brett Mortimer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Haslemere FC's Jeff Gibbs was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Abraham Blackwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Haslemere FC's Dan Woodman slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sean Challis. That made the score 0-2 after 75 minutes of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Steve Higgins during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 80 played minutes Capel City got a freekick which was hit by Steve Higgins. Capel City's Sean Challis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Capel City from getting a goal against them. In the 86th match minute, Capel City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Graeme Pilkington to maneuver through the defense. Sean Challis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dan Woodman in the 92nd minute of the match. When Bradley Rowling came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Capel City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bradley Rowling couldn't finish the play. Haslemere FC played a much better game than Capel City and deserved their victory. The Capel City players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
