In the 21st minute Junior Hardcastle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihai Popan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robbie Briant could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Allan Cardwell made a huge save. When Marske-by-the-Sea United's Dylon Goodman in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 30th minute Damon Mulford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allan Cardwell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mihai Popan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pete Seagrave, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Mihai Popan made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Dylon Goodman sent off a good shot on target. Mihai Popan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pete Seagrave in the 58th minute of play. Pete Seagrave succeeded in the game's 60th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-4. With a little luck, Bergersfield Town F.C.'s Mihai Popan got control of the ball when Junior Hardcastle tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 68th minute Pat Whieldon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihai Popan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 70 played minutes Bergersfield Town F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Jay Webb. Bergersfield Town F.C.'s Mihai Popan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Bergersfield Town F.C. from getting a goal against them. Mihai Popan came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Marske-by-the-Sea United's Dylon Goodman. But to his dismay, Dylon Goodman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. In the 81st minute of the match, Dylon Goodman got a very nice opportunity to score, but Mihai Popan was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Allan Cardwell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Robbie Briant went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Barney Stiles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Allan Cardwell was relentless in the 94th minute of the game.
