Spectators: 6703 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1703, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Pete Seagrave got the match started through his kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dylon Goodman during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 8 played minutes Marske-by-the-Sea United got a freekick which was hit by Dylon Goodman. Bradley Rowling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Allan Cardwell having to interfere. 16 minutes into the game, Pete Seagrave recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sean Challis. Pete Seagrave showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Dylon Goodman might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sean Challis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dylon Goodman ran back to his position shaking his head. Bradley Rowling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Marske-by-the-Sea United's Pat Whieldon got a free kick in the 30th minute. Allan Cardwell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brett Mortimer went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Allan Cardwell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brett Mortimer in the 36th minute of play. Pete Seagrave kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 45th minute Pete Seagrave shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sean Challis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bradley Rowling stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Keanu Gaskell kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In the 54th minute Bradley Rowling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allan Cardwell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Brett Mortimer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capel City's supporters rose to their feet, but Brett Mortimer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Allan Cardwell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 57th minute, Dylon Goodman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dylon Goodman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Challis having to interfere. Bradley Rowling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dylon Goodman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dylon Goodman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Sean Challis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pete Seagrave sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brett Mortimer got free with Allan Cardwell in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marske-by-the-Sea United's Allan Cardwell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brett Mortimer in the 88th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Marske-by-the-Sea United's Pat Whieldon got a free kick in the 90th minute. If Pete Seagrave had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sean Challis came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Marske-by-the-Sea United's Dylon Goodman. But to his dismay, Dylon Goodman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. When the referee ended the match the Marske-by-the-Sea United players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
