Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dan Woodman started the match with the kick off. 12 minutes into the match, Marske-by-the-Sea United's goal looked a bit too open when Dan Woodman came free, but Allan Cardwell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eddy Prutton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eddy Prutton's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Allan Cardwell skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jeff Yeo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Allan Cardwell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dan Woodman was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 21st minute. Haslemere FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Dan Woodman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eddy Prutton got free with Allan Cardwell in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jeff Gibbs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dylon Goodman in the 40th minute of play. Eddy Prutton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Allan Cardwell having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Marske-by-the-Sea United's Pete Seagrave got a free kick in the 47th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Haslemere FC's Eddy Prutton got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Malcolm Jenkinson hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. A collision led to Haslemere FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Jeff Yeo hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, Marske-by-the-Sea United's goal looked a bit too open when Eddy Prutton came free, but Allan Cardwell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Malcolm Jenkinson kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Eddy Prutton put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Allan Cardwell. A collision led to Marske-by-the-Sea United getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Pat Whieldon hit a great ball. With 89 minutes on the clock, Austin Billington commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 89 minutes into the game, one of Marske-by-the-Sea United:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Haslemere FC a penalty, 92 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rupert Liddle, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Marske-by-the-Sea United's Allan Cardwell. 2-1. In the 95th minute, Dylon Goodman made a precise shot to the right of Jeff Gibbs. Haslemere FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. After a rather tough play, Marske-by-the-Sea United's Ross Green got a free kick in the 98th minute. 99 minutes into the match, Marske-by-the-Sea United's goal looked a bit too open when Dan Woodman came free, but Allan Cardwell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
