Sepsi OSK's Will Collier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beinn Lamb in the 9th minute of play. After 10 played minutes Sepsi OSK got a freekick which was hit by Andre Walsh. Luke Lane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeff Izzard in the 15th minute of the match. With a little luck, Rainhill's Luke Lane got control of the ball when Rio Gough tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luke Lane made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rio Gough in the 19th minute. Rio Gough had several of the Rainhill's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 20 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Luke Lane as he didn't even see the shot coming. The supporters of Sepsi OSK booed when Rainhill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Reading didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beinn Lamb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Will Collier having to interfere. In the 40th play minute Rio Gough came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Luke Lane. 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rio Gough got free with Luke Lane in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The wind increased when Rio Gough made the kick off in the second half. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rainhill fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 55th minute. Penalty! After 60 played minutes Rainhill got a freekick which was hit by Simon Gray. Luke Lane came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Sepsi OSK's Jeff Izzard. But to his dismay, Jeff Izzard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. In the 64thth minute of the game Rio Gough who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rainhill's Luke Lane was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luke Lane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rio Gough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Alan Reading fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rainhill's protests and gave Alan Reading a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Sepsi OSK booed when Rainhill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Reading didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 68 played minutes, Sepsi OSK's Bryan Platt shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luke Lane came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sepsi OSK reached it. Luke Lane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rio Gough in the 73rd minute of play. In the 76th minute, Simon Gray hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 78 minutes into the game, Sepsi OSK's Jeff Izzard nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luke Lane made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1. Darren Bzeu's late challenge caught a Sepsi OSK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Darren Bzeu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 81st match minute, Rainhill was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darren Bzeu to maneuver through the defense. There was no doubt that Sepsi OSK were the better team. Sepsi OSK's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
