Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Geoff Tyrell took the kick off in the first half of the match. Sebastian Haxby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geoff Tyrell in the 3rd minute of the match. Jamal Mason's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 10thth minute, Sebastian Haxby skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Sebastian Haxby was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Geoff Tyrell showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. After 15 played minutes Chorley got a freekick which was hit by Colin Crouch. After 17 played minutes Chorley got a freekick which was hit by Stefan Littlechild. In the 18th minute of the match Peter Dickner shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paul Noble showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jamal Mason's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Sebastian Haxby skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Simon Walls fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chorley's protests and gave Simon Walls a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th minute, Simon Walls hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peter Dickner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Noble having to interfere. Jamal Mason in the 27thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sebastian Haxby, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Sebastian Haxby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geoff Tyrell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Verwood's Sebastian Haxby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geoff Tyrell in the 31st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Chorley's Geoff Tyrell got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Verwood's goalkeeper Sebastian Haxby, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Simon Walls got his second yellow card in the match during the 39th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Chorley's Simon Walls got a free kick in the 39th minute. Glen Drury charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Glen Drury the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 41st match minute, Verwood was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glen Drury to maneuver through the defense. Chorley's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Glenn Lappin in the 44th minute. Anthony Snowden's late challenge caught a Chorley's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anthony Snowden helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Verwood getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Anthony Snowden hit a great ball. In the 48th minute, Jamal Mason got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Pete Cotterill made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Jamal Mason shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Haxby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tony Liddle hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. The supporters of Verwood booed when Chorley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Colin Crouch didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Verwood's zone, Jamal Mason stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastian Haxby came out of the goal and Jamal Mason tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 66 played minutes Verwood got a freekick which was hit by Tony Liddle. The supporters of Chorley booed when Verwood was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Liddle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sebastian Haxby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Colin Crouch in the 76th minute of play. A collision led to Verwood getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Tony Liddle hit a great ball. In the 85th minute, Colin Crouch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pete Cotterill received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Paul Noble came out and tried to block the shot, but Pete Cotterill slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 86th minute. Jamal Mason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Sebastian Haxby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jamal Mason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Haxby having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
