A sloppy throw-in by Robert Renwick in the 4th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Shawbury United's Ruben Stead. Austin Fairbank recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Russ Firth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Terry Leighton in the 6th minute of play. A collision led to Shawbury United getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Austin Fairbank hit a great ball. Ben Haxby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Russ Firth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 19 played minutes Hockley got a freekick which was hit by Luke Cornforth. In the 20th minute, Geoff Miller got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 22 minutes, Blair Cryer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hockley and the Shawbury United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Hockley's Blair Cryer got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Austin Fairbank sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st match minute, Hockley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luke Cornforth to maneuver through the defense. A very good chance. If Terry Leighton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terry Leighton in the 69th minute of play forced Shawbury United's goalkeeper Russ Firth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Gamble took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Austin Fairbank, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joel Gamble didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Austin Fairbank went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Nathanial Lampard made in the 76th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Benjamin Housham immediately put the ball in play. In the 78th minute, Austin Fairbank hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robin Hook recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Victor Colley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Gamble having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Shawbury United had played much better football throughout.
