Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gav Lineker in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albert Spink prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 16 minutes, Iain Beswetherick mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bedale FC and the Hendon players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 16th match minute, Bedale FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iain Beswetherick to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute Gav Lineker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albert Spink saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Bedale FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alfred Broadhead came free, but Albert Spink reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jamal Scholes in the 21st minute of play forced Hendon's goalkeeper Leo Mahon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Jamal Scholes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leo Mahon. Hendon's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jamal Scholes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Gav Lineker took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Albert Spink. Albert Spink dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Albert Spink showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gav Lineker in the 38th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Chaz Potts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bedale FC's Albert Spink played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gav Lineker in the 41st minute of play. 1-3 became the score in the 44th minute when Gav Lineker elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Åke Snell in the 47th minute of play forced Bedale FC's goalkeeper Albert Spink to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chaz Potts stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Iain Beswetherick took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leo Mahon. Leo Mahon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Albert Spink took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gav Lineker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Bedale FC booed when Hendon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven-Åke Snell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gav Lineker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Albert Spink tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 81 minutes into the game, Gav Lineker recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Albert Spink. Gav Lineker showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-6. Hendon's Marty Rowland was substituted for Sven-Åke Snell. When Hendon's Gav Lineker in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bedale FC's goalie prevented a goal. Marty Rowland took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Albert Spink. Hendon's Gav Lineker got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hendon played a much better game than Bedale FC and deserved their victory. The Bedale FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
