Spectators: 6730 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Chaz Hotte took the kick off in the first half of the match. Chaz Hotte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wayne Bridge having to interfere. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wells City's goalkeeper Wayne Bridge, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Seb Dlyan's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Eric Riad firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ben Wilmott struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Eric Riad didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wells City. After a rather tough play, Blyth FC's Len Timiney got a free kick in the 17th minute. Ben Wilmott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Eric Riad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eric Riad stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ben Wilmott's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Wells City's zone, Sidney Cousins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wayne Bridge came out of the goal and Sidney Cousins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Blyth FC's Dean Henderson got a free kick in the 38th minute. Tris Basham, 40 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Ben Wilmott kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eric Riad. That made the score 1-0 in the 42 minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ben Wilmott stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kieran Slabber hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 55 minutes into the game, Wells City's Seb Dlyan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eric Riad made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Kasey Hodgson charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kasey Hodgson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Wells City booed when Blyth FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kasey Hodgson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kirk Lane hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. If Ben Wilmott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ben Wilmott in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eric Riad saved Blyth FC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Blyth FC's Rob Logan got a free kick in the 69th minute. Wayne Bridge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chaz Hotte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Sidney Cousins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th match minute, Wells City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kurt Jefferies to maneuver through the defense. After taking down the ball on Blyth FC's corner Kirk Lane fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Wayne Bridge quite easily take care of the ball. In the 87th minute, Tyler Perryman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ben Wilmott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Blyth FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Wells City.
