John Pallister took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ray Rowland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Worksop United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when Sly Corcoran scored to the left of an out of position Frank Kitching, making the score, 1-0. John Pallister made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rick Hitchcock in the 28th minute of play. Ged Seagrave charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ged Seagrave the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ray Rowland was the one to do the kick off. Worksop United's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
