Spectators: 6690 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1690, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alexander Basterfield started the match with the kick off. After 2 played minutes Thatcham AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jeffrey Osbourne. James Harper blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Darren Guest having to make a save. In the 7thth minute of the game Rio Weeks who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Thatcham AFC's Stuart Best was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jeffrey Osbourne hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Tristram Ainsworth blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stuart Best having to make a save. If Dom Little had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stuart Best showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rio Weeks in the 14th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by James Harper in the 18th minute of play forced Redruth FC's goalkeeper Darren Guest to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Thatcham AFC's James Harper sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Darren Guest narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 21st minute, Alexander Basterfield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thatcham AFC's James Harper got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rio Weeks to make the kick off. Rio Weeks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Redruth FC's Darren Guest played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Basterfield in the 65th minute of play. When Dom Little fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Redruth FC's protests and gave Dom Little a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Redruth FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Dom Little hit a great ball. If James Harper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Alexander Basterfield came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Thatcham AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexander Basterfield couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Alexander Basterfield's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Darren Guest was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Redruth FC's Darren Guest played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Basterfield in the 90th minute of play. Tyrone Brazier hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match.
