Joel Picker might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronnie Carr. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Picker ran back to his position shaking his head. Seb Hopgood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivor Beattie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivor Beattie scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Seb Hopgood, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nathanial Tomkin got free with Ronnie Carr in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Thornhill AFC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Louis Hewitt hit a great ball. Joel Picker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Ronnie Carr managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Haslemere FC's Nathanial Tomkin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Kristopher Moon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 34th minute, Ted Barber sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Thornhill AFC's Ronnie Carr didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Picker in the 39th minute of play forced Thornhill AFC's goalkeeper Ronnie Carr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Reg Tuck was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Haslemere FC's defense could not quite keep up when Adrian Rockett in the 87th minute got ready and shot a well placed long shot on target. It was only the outstanding action taken by the goalkeeper Seb Hopgood that stopped the ball from going in by the upper left corner. Buster McGurk hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute, Ted Barber sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Thornhill AFC's Ronnie Carr didn't even have to move. If Joel Picker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Haslemere FC's Seb Hopgood got control of the ball when Tris Kerr tried to sneak it across the goal line.
