Tommy Hoskins's late challenge caught a Jiul Petrosani's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tommy Hoskins helped the player get up and apologised. Harvey Cardwell struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Billy Wildman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jiul Petrosani. In the 20th minute, Mattias Blake got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mugur Țepeluș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steve Weatherhead, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Connor Garner-Currie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ashley Higson in the 27th minute of play forced Jiul Petrosani's goalkeeper Mugur Țepeluș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 31 minutes, Steve Weatherhead managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After a defensive mix-up in Jiul Petrosani's zone, Steve Weatherhead stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mugur Țepeluș came out of the goal and Steve Weatherhead tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the match, Jiul Petrosani's goal looked a bit too open when Steve Weatherhead came free, but Mugur Țepeluș reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Billy Wildman made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Connor Garner-Currie sent off a good shot on target. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 68th minute, Neil Wakefield hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Micheal Forrest made in the 72nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Ken Phelps however managed to control. Ashley Higson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute Ron Dransfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Billy Wildman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Byron Hurdle kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Levenshulme City's Steve Weatherhead got a free kick in the 94th minute. Jiul Petrosani walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
