In the 16th minute of the match Clive Simms sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vernon Chiverton skillfully saved the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Rory Drake cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Daryl Crouch was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Rory Drake had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Dom Brimble managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kesgrave United's supporters rose to their feet, but Dom Brimble was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vernon Chiverton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Kesgrave United's Tris Furlong in 34 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Vernon Chiverton guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After a defensive mix-up in Kesgrave United's zone, Rory Drake stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daryl Crouch came out of the goal and Rory Drake tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 39 minutes into the match, Kesgrave United's goal looked a bit too open when Ruben Preece came free, but Daryl Crouch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Kesgrave United's goal looked a bit too open when Rory Drake came free, but Daryl Crouch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dom Brimble couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Crispin Hold during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Daryl Crouch stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rory Drake's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Rory Drake fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daryl Crouch having to interfere. Lancaster FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
