When the match had been going on for 11 minutes Ash Lobb shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Iain Cousins when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. 13 minutes into the match, Malmesbury's goalkeeper Christian Anderson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roy Shields. Iain Cousins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amancio Jacob, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Ash Lobb sped through Newcastle UTD's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Iain Cousins. A collision led to Malmesbury getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Phil Bullard hit a great ball. Simon Walton struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Christian Anderson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newcastle UTD. When Malmesbury's Amancio Jacob in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 34 played minutes Malmesbury got a freekick which was hit by Richie Lucas. After a defensive mix-up in Newcastle UTD's zone, Amancio Jacob stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iain Cousins came out of the goal and Amancio Jacob tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The wind increased when Amancio Jacob made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amancio Jacob got free with Iain Cousins in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Iain Cousins was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Ash Lobb capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ash Lobb really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Amancio Jacob who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Iain Cousins when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Amancio Jacob did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-5 to the left of a surprised Iain Cousins 60 minutes into the match. Denzil Slator recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Conan Lampard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iain Cousins having to interfere. Amancio Jacob sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Richie Lucas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Malmesbury's Garth Hamer was substituted for Amancio Jacob. 75 minutes into the match, Malmesbury's Richie Lucas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iain Cousins narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Garth Hamer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iain Cousins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Garth Hamer's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the game, Rick La Forte was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newcastle UTD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Malmesbury the free kick. After 82 played minutes Newcastle UTD got a freekick which was hit by Rick La Forte. Garth Hamer who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Iain Cousins when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Garth Hamer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
