Spectators: 5003 (Terracing: 4001, Seating: 1001, VIP seats: 1) Ermegildo Blasco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Verne Abbotts read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Whitwell's zone, Jake Kyle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Verne Abbotts came out of the goal and Jake Kyle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Redruth Black's Noel Hitchen got control of the ball when Tod Hinshelwood tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 29thth minute of the game Scott Crabtree who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Whitwell's Verne Abbotts was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Verne Abbotts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ermegildo Blasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jake Kyle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ermegildo Blasco struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Verne Abbotts didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Redruth Black. A collision led to Redruth Black getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Denis Varley hit a great ball. If Scott Crabtree had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Verne Abbotts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jake Kyle in the 48th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Scott Crabtree could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Verne Abbotts made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Redruth Black's Adam Prokowski got a free kick in the 64th minute. Jon Croft struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Noel Hitchen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Whitwell. After 69 played minutes Whitwell got a freekick which was hit by Tod Hinshelwood. Noel Hitchen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tris Carlisle, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Ermegildo Blasco kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Billy Hayes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 78th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Noel Hitchen. Redruth Black's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 79 minutes of play, Whitwell's Iain Sheene made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Noel Hitchen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ermegildo Blasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Derek Thorne charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Derek Thorne the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Verne Abbotts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Scott Crabtree in the 87th minute of the match. Verne Abbotts had great luck who in the 88thth minute grab hold of the ball when Scott Crabtree from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. The long shot by Caleb Dlyan in the 90th minute really tested Verne Abbotts's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Whitwell's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
