FC Farcelona's Gwyn Coogan quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Phillip Oldroyd might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Trey Rowett. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Phillip Oldroyd ran back to his position shaking his head. After 14 minutes of play, FC Farcelona's Ian Unsworth made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Trey Rowett was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gwyn Coogan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Trey Rowett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Keramettin Savni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brynn Hume in the 26th minute of play. In the 31st minute Brynn Hume shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keramettin Savni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Basildon's Trey Rowett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ian Unsworth in the 32nd minute of play. If Phillip Oldroyd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by George Childs during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 37th match minute, Basildon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Childs to maneuver through the defense. Trevor Ridgeway hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After 39 minutes, Les Connell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Basildon and the FC Farcelona players grew even worse after the yellow card. Les Connell kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Keramettin Savni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Junior Deveraux's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. After some careless play in the FC Farcelona defense, Brynn Hume kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Keramettin Savni. The FC Farcelona fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Keramettin Savni should have stopped the shot.

The wind increased when Ian Unsworth made the kick off in the second half. Ian Unsworth scored 2-1 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Trey Rowett, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ian Unsworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Keith Clarkson lost his temper 66 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Farcelona fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 68 minutes, Basildon's Les Connell got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Keramettin Savni. FC Farcelona's attentive Gwyn Coogan managed to snatch the ball when Silvester Caine made a throw-in in the 75th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Basildon's George Childs got a free kick in the 75th minute. Ronnie Mansfield's late challenge caught a FC Farcelona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronnie Mansfield helped the player get up and apologised. In the 79th minute, one of Basildon:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Basildon. In the 82nd minute there was a penalty for FC Farcelona. Rory Shipley stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Trey Rowett. 3-2. Blair Small kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. A collision led to Basildon getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Blair Small hit a great ball. Rory Shipley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Junior Deveraux in the 94th minute of play forced FC Farcelona's goalkeeper Keramettin Savni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 98th minute of the match, Junior Deveraux tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Keramettin Savni saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 100 minutes into the match, Basildon's goal looked a bit too open when Rory Shipley came free, but Trey Rowett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 102 minutes, the score became 4-3 when Ian Unsworth sped through Basildon's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Trey Rowett. There was no doubt that FC Farcelona were the better team. FC Farcelona's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
