Ged Monk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darryl Lynch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Dion Meechan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Benji Izzard fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Telford's protests and gave Benji Izzard a yellow card for diving instead. Benji Izzard kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Dion Meechan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Houghton Regis FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dion Meechan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jack Reynolds breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eric Trotter's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Ged Monk skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 16th minute, Darryl Lynch reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ged Monk. The goal made the score 1-0. Eric Trotter's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Ged Monk skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jermaine Turk hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute, Tris Postolan had to leave the field with a concussion. Eddie Talbot charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eddie Talbot the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Telford getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Eddie Talbot hit a great ball. Dion Meechan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jack Reynolds having to interfere. Darryl Lynch recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 43rd minute, Eric Trotter left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Telford fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 46th minute, Jay Odell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Eric Trotter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Telford's supporters rose to their feet, but Eric Trotter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ged Monk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Darryl Lynch made the kick off in the second half. If Eric Trotter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 59 minutes of play, Houghton Regis FC's Dion Meechan made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jack Reynolds was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dion Meechan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Jack Reynolds made a huge save. Ritchie Winship hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After 69 played minutes, Telford's Calum Crichton shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ged Monk came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Telford reached it. After a rather tough play, Houghton Regis FC's Dion Meechan got a free kick in the 71st minute. Benji Izzard kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Eric Trotter's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ged Monk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Jay Odell struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Jack Reynolds didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Houghton Regis FC. 82 minutes into the match, Telford's goalkeeper Jack Reynolds had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dion Meechan. Dion Meechan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Telford's Eddie Talbot got a free kick in the 85th minute. Telford's Darryl Lynch got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eric Trotter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Ged Monk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sean Blunt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Telford's Eddie Talbot got a free kick in the 96th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Houghton Regis FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Telford.
