Carlton Langley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Rashleigh in the 3rd minute of the match. In the 9th minute Richie Dunning shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlton Langley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th match minute, MARIO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vera Arvidsson to maneuver through the defense. MARIO FC's Billie Higgins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvestre Gelmiro in the 15th minute of play. After 20 played minutes MARIO FC got a freekick which was hit by Dave Rashleigh. In the 22nd minute Dave Rashleigh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlton Langley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to rattlers battlers getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Thom Atkins hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Rashleigh in the 23rd minute of play forced rattlers battlers's goalkeeper Carlton Langley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as rattlers battlers's Silvestre Gelmiro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Billie Higgins. That made the score 1-1 after 26 minutes of play. In the 38th minute there was a penalty for MARIO FC. Richie Dunning stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Carlton Langley. 1-2. Carlton Langley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bill Clayson, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Carlton Langley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joseph Duckworth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 48 minutes, Adam Turnbull mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the rattlers battlers and the MARIO FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After the first half MARIO FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Warren Horseman to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the rattlers battlers defense, Dave Rashleigh kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlton Langley. The rattlers battlers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlton Langley should have stopped the shot. rattlers battlers's Carlton Langley proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save rattlers battlers from getting a goal against them. Carlton Langley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Rashleigh, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. 64 minutes into the match, Dave Rashleigh dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Carlton Langley, 1-4. The supporters of rattlers battlers booed when MARIO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joseph Duckworth didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Rashleigh in the 82nd minute of play forced rattlers battlers's goalkeeper Carlton Langley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Warren Horseman could shoot a difficult shot in the 88th minute, which Carlton Langley however easily saved by the left post. 94 minutes into the game, Dave Rashleigh recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlton Langley. Dave Rashleigh showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-6. In the 97th minute, MARIO FC's Bill Clayson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-7. MARIO FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
