When Sebastien Adcock fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Porthcurno United's protests and gave Sebastien Adcock a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd match minute, Porthcurno United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastien Adcock to maneuver through the defense. Thomas Nowland's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Kieran McGrath firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 5 played minutes Kentish Town got a freekick which was hit by Tyrone Legzdins. 7 minutes into the game, Hugh Sykes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Vance Greenwood was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 10th minute, Jeremy Budden got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristopher Banks in the 11th minute of play forced Porthcurno United's goalkeeper Kieran McGrath to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kieran McGrath didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leo Liddle went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Hugh Sykes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vance Greenwood having to interfere. After 23 played minutes Kentish Town got a freekick which was hit by Leo Liddle. Vance Greenwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastien Adcock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vance Greenwood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeremy Budden in the 29th minute of the match. Hugh Sykes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vance Greenwood having to interfere. 33 minutes into the game, Tyrone Legzdins was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kentish Town's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Porthcurno United the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Kentish Town fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 33rd minute. Penalty! In the 34th minute there was a penalty for Porthcurno United. Blair Budden stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Vance Greenwood. 1-3. Hugh Sykes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jeremy Budden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Vance Greenwood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute Kristopher Banks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kieran McGrath saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Hugh Sykes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Porthcurno United were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sebastien Adcock made a kick off. After 52 minutes, Dennis Dawson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kentish Town and the Porthcurno United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jeremy Budden was extremely unlucky when he, in the 55th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Hugh Sykes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vance Greenwood read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Hugh Sykes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vance Greenwood having to interfere. Vance Greenwood came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Porthcurno United's Sebastien Adcock. But to his dismay, Sebastien Adcock quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. After 69 minutes of play, Porthcurno United's Sebastien Adcock made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vance Greenwood was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kristopher Banks kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Vance Greenwood made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Hugh Sykes sent off a good shot on target. Vance Greenwood was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jeremy Budden showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-6 in the 85 minute of play. 88 minutes into the game, Hugh Sykes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-7. Vance Greenwood was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jeremy Budden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Porthcurno United booed when Kentish Town was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clive Bowler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kieran McGrath showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristopher Banks, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. When the final whistle sounded Porthcurno United left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Kentish Town.
