Spectators: 6730 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Harvey Auckland took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Devon McDermot came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Salcombe United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Devon McDermot couldn't finish the play. If Devon McDermot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 7th minute of the match Alfred Dines sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stu Wood skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Devon McDermot managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salcombe United's supporters rose to their feet, but Devon McDermot was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stu Wood breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 11th minute Devon McDermot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stu Wood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 14 minutes, Seb Robinson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Andover City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Seb Robinson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mickey Rutherford kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. A collision led to Andover City getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Robbie Busby hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Salcombe United's zone, Seb Robinson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jordan Jenkins came out of the goal and Seb Robinson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Jack Davis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stu Wood was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Seb Robinson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Jordan Jenkins made a huge save. In the 29th minute, Peter Martin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jack Davis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Stu Wood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Devon McDermot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stu Wood having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Andover City's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Davis came free, but Stu Wood reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jack Davis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Devon McDermot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Stu Wood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jack Davis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jack Davis made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Salcombe United's Jack Davis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. In the 60th minute, Salcombe United's Jack Davis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Stu Wood. Stu Wood yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Devon McDermot could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Stu Wood made a huge save. When Salcombe United's Jack Davis in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Andover City's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Devon McDermot got free with Stu Wood in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jack Davis in the 73rd minute of play forced Andover City's goalkeeper Stu Wood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Devon McDermot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Seb Robinson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 84 minutes, Neil Scargill mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Andover City and the Salcombe United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Andover City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 91st minute, when Devon McDermot scored to the left of an out of position Stu Wood, making the score, 0-4. 96 minutes into the match, Salcombe United's goal looked a bit too open when Seb Robinson came free, but Jordan Jenkins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Salcombe United could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Andover City throughout the match.
