Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 0) Kings Lynn's Steven Chiverton started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jimmy Farmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Burrows having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Kings Lynn's goal looked a bit too open when Jimmy Farmer came free, but Eric Burrows reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Black Country City's Dennis Boxall nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eric Burrows made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Jimmy Farmer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Black Country City's supporters rose to their feet, but Jimmy Farmer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eric Burrows breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paddy Berryman kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Steven Chiverton scored 1-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rick Cook, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 33 minutes into the match, Black Country City's goal looked a bit too open when Steven Chiverton came free, but Rick Cook reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Steven Chiverton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rick Cook was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. The supporters of Black Country City booed when Kings Lynn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paddy Berryman didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Steven Chiverton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jimmy Farmer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rick Cook made an important save on a dangerous shot by Camron Cheeseman in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute of the match, Steven Chiverton tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rick Cook saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Steven Chiverton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Kings Lynn's Steven Chiverton in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Black Country City's goalie prevented a goal. Rick Cook made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Chiverton in the 74th minute of play. After 75 played minutes Kings Lynn got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Small. Eric Burrows showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Boxall in the 76th minute of the match. Steven Chiverton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Rick Cook tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Kings Lynn's goal looked a bit too open when Jimmy Farmer came free, but Eric Burrows reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute, Camron Cheeseman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rick Cook was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Alistair Chivers hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Kings Lynn fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 90th minute. Penalty! Black Country City were awarded a corner in the 94th minute after Kings Lynn's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Christian Cardwell took the corner. The corner led Black Country City's Christian Cardwell to fire away a dangerous shot which Eric Burrows despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Camron Cheeseman came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Kings Lynn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Camron Cheeseman couldn't finish the play. 97 minutes into the game, Damion Auty was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Black Country City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kings Lynn the free kick. Damion Auty hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. The Black Country City supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Kings Lynn's performance. The match ended with a win for Kings Lynn.
