John Paul Matthews made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Buckley in the 23rd minute of play. Old Leake's John Paul Matthews played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stuart Holyfield in the 27th minute of play. A collision led to Old Leake getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Ken Lawless hit a great ball. Marlon Draper fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nigel Kay having to interfere. If Leroy Beech had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leroy Beech received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Nigel Kay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John Paul Matthews came out of the goal and Larry Briggs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marlon Draper stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Old Leake's John Paul Matthews proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Old Leake from getting a goal against them. Leroy Beech received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Nigel Kay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vinnie Baxter took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nigel Kay. Fowey City's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
