Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Adam Nicholls kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd match minute, Skegby AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruce Devine to maneuver through the defense. If Brad Cotterill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Stevie Wallbank took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Rod Goodman to make any attempt to save it. The crowd rose to their feet as Skegby AFC's Adam Nicholls slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rod Goodman. That made the score 2-0 after 28 minutes of play. A collision led to Skegby AFC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Bruce Devine hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute Les Naylor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tom Walton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rod Goodman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adam Nicholls, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joseph Horner might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rod Goodman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joseph Horner ran back to his position shaking his head. Skegby AFC's Joseph Horner got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Adam Nicholls had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rod Goodman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joseph Horner went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Les Naylor was the one to do the kick off. Bruce Devine was shown his second yellow card after 62 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Bruce Devine kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Garry Mullan was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 64th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Rod Goodman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joseph Horner in the 72nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Cricklewood FC's zone, Joseph Horner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rod Goodman came out of the goal and Joseph Horner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ted Simms hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Joseph Horner managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skegby AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joseph Horner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rod Goodman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brad Cotterill struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Tom Walton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cricklewood FC. 96 minutes into the match, Les Naylor dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tom Walton, 4-1. Skegby AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cricklewood FC for a fine match.
