Spectators: 6695 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1695, VIP seats: 0) Tipton City's Alexander Dyson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 6 minutes of play, Shepshed's Alastair Branch made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. John Paul Beech was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 11th minute Ronnie Masters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John Paul Beech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tipton City's Alexander Dyson got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 20th minute of the match, Ronnie Masters tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but John Paul Beech saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. John Paul Beech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matt Pilkington in the 22nd minute of play. Alexander Dyson scored 1-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pierre Cryer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. John Paul Beech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronnie Masters in the 31st minute of play. In the 34th minute, Wesley Upson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. John Paul Beech made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nathanial Spencer in the 43rd minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 47 minutes into the game, when Jimmy Milburn put in a rough tackle. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ronnie Masters to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Shepshed booed when Tipton City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harvey Forrester didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 57 played minutes, Shepshed's Thom Hislop shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper John Paul Beech came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Shepshed reached it. Sid Jump received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Pierre Cryer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexander Dyson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tipton City's John Paul Beech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronnie Masters in the 65th minute of play. John Paul Beech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nathanial Spencer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 68 minutes into the match, Tipton City's goal looked a bit too open when Ronnie Masters came free, but John Paul Beech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. John Paul Beech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronnie Masters, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. The supporters of Tipton City booed when Shepshed was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christopher Grantham didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Alastair Branch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Matt Pilkington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute, Sid Jump got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 80th minute Eric Middleton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierre Cryer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexander Dyson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pierre Cryer came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Tipton City's Sid Jump. But to his dismay, Sid Jump quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. John Paul Beech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nathanial Spencer in the 90th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Tipton City's goal looked a bit too open when Matt Pilkington came free, but John Paul Beech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 99 minutes into the match, Shepshed's goalkeeper Pierre Cryer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alexander Dyson. Tipton City's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
