An unexpectedly hard shot by Ethan Leyburn in the 18th minute of play forced Sandbach's goalkeeper Todd Scrivener to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Todd Scrivener took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnathan Renner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sandbach's Todd Scrivener played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johnathan Renner in the 21st minute of play. Ivor Summerfield's late challenge caught a Sandbach's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sandbach's Reuben Hughes couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 26th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Selsey AFC. When Johnathan Renner came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Selsey AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Johnathan Renner couldn't finish the play. An unexpected shot in the 36th minute by Charles Sercombe got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Selsey AFC's Wes Kessler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sammy Billington in the 38th minute of play. Charles Sercombe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wes Kessler having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sammy Billington to make the kick off. One of Sandbach:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Selsey AFC:s goal. If Johnathan Renner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ethan Leyburn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wes Kessler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Charles Sercombe's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. The supporters of Selsey AFC booed when Sandbach was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liam Cooper didn't get a good kick on the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
