Cambridge Athletic F.C. were furious when Rodd Leyburn was red carded, 32 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 32nd minute of the game. One of Cambridge Athletic F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Moore AFC:s goal. In the 35th minute there was a penalty for Moore AFC. Moore AFC's Lloyd Colman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Moore AFC from getting a goal against them. Rick Sheene might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lloyd Colman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicholas Oldroyd kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adrian Middleton in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lloyd Colman saved Moore AFC from getting behind. Ashley Burns made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicholas Oldroyd in the 85th minute. Adrian Middleton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Moore AFC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Buster Kear hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Adrian Middleton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cambridge Athletic F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Adrian Middleton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lloyd Colman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Baldomero Iratxo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
