The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Graeme Pearce during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Glenn Bird recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Glenn Bird had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Glenn Bird fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Armstrong having to interfere. Sol Connery received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Frank Armstrong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fraser Gardner to make the kick off. Glenn Bird recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Sol Connery had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute Fraser Gardner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Jenkins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 65th minute, Warren Milburn made a precise shot to the right of Alexander Jenkins. Stoners Rovers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Alexander Jenkins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fraser Gardner in the 71st minute of play. Fraser Gardner struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Alexander Jenkins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coventry. Alexander Jenkins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fraser Gardner in the 75th minute of the match. Kasey Auty charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kasey Auty the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 76th minute, Kasey Auty hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Howard Purvis hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute, Toby Norton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sol Connery in the 84th minute of play forced Coventry's goalkeeper Frank Armstrong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fraser Gardner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Warren Milburn in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexander Jenkins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sol Connery received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Frank Armstrong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
