Spectators: 6690 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1690, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Damien McCartney started the match with the kick off. In the 8th minute Frankie Jeffrey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garry Moyle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute of the match Joey Kendall shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jeremy Hewitt showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Shaldon's zone, Damien McCartney stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeremy Hewitt came out of the goal and Damien McCartney tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes into the match, Frankie Jeffrey notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Stock's Garry Moyle. Garry Moyle was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jeremy Hewitt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rufus Johnston in the 23rd minute. Justin Dawes kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Shaldon's Jeremy Hewitt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damien McCartney in the 25th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Shaldon's zone, Rufus Johnston stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeremy Hewitt came out of the goal and Rufus Johnston tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Stock's Timothy Doughty in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Shaldon's goalie prevented a goal. Damien McCartney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremy Hewitt having to interfere. In the 35th match minute, Shaldon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justin Dawes to maneuver through the defense. Timothy Doughty kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Stock's Damien McCartney got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rufus Johnston struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Jeremy Hewitt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stock. The Stock players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Shaldon were winning 0-1.

When Stock's Rufus Johnston in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Rufus Johnston blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jeremy Hewitt having to make a save. Jeremy Hewitt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rufus Johnston, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute, Damien McCartney left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Stock fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. If Timothy Doughty had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Rufus Johnston came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Stock fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rufus Johnston couldn't finish the play. Connor Selby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Garry Moyle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
