Clóvis Koehler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Junior Forbes in the 14th minute. In the 18th minute, Ross Huxtable left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colwick FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 22 minutes into the match, Chatham City's goal looked a bit too open when Joe Hales came free, but Les Higginson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Colwick FC's Clóvis Koehler proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Colwick FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dominic Lee-Barrett in the 32nd minute of play forced Chatham City's goalkeeper Les Higginson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Colwick FC's Joe Hales got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute, Taner Berksoy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Les Higginson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stuart Davis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 41 minutes, Joe Hales managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colwick FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joe Hales was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a little luck, Chatham City's Les Higginson got control of the ball when Joe Hales tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thomas Hopton hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After 64 minutes Chatham City's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bryan Blacksmith who took care of the corner kick. At last the ball reached Stuart Davis at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Chatham City. 0-3. The supporters of Chatham City booed when Colwick FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dominic Lee-Barrett didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Keith Alcock in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Clóvis Koehler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Chatham City defense, Joe Hales kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Les Higginson. The Chatham City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Les Higginson should have stopped the shot. Bryan Blacksmith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Les Higginson having to interfere. 82 minutes into the match, Joe Hales notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Chatham City's Les Higginson. Les Higginson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 86 played minutes Bryan Blacksmith rounded Chatham City's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-6. After 92 minutes, Nath Turnbull mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chatham City and the Colwick FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Joe Hales took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Les Higginson. Les Higginson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7.
