Carlin How AFC's Byron Halford proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Carlin How AFC from getting a goal against them. 15 minutes into the game, Daniel Martin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carlin How AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AS GANJA the free kick. After 14 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Carlin How AFC! When the match had been going on for 16 minutes, AS GANJA's Steven Lodge got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Byron Halford. AS GANJA's Aaron Loren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ritchie Penn in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Martin in the 21st minute of play forced AS GANJA's goalkeeper Aaron Loren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Carlin How AFC defense, Sigurt Trebbin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Byron Halford. The Carlin How AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Byron Halford should have stopped the shot. Byron Halford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steven Lodge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valeriu Vieru got free with Byron Halford in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sigurt Trebbin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Byron Halford made a huge save. Marc Lawless sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the match, Carlin How AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Steven Lodge came free, but Byron Halford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 40 minutes, Steven Lodge managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AS GANJA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Steven Lodge was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Byron Halford was a little too slow when Steven Lodge got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 4-0. After a defensive mix-up in Carlin How AFC's zone, Andy Barkley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Byron Halford came out of the goal and Andy Barkley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ritchie Penn was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Todd Gray managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AS GANJA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Todd Gray was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Martin kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. In the 66th minute Jeff Holdsworth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Byron Halford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Colin Lampard's late challenge caught a AS GANJA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Colin Lampard helped the player get up and apologised. Marc Lawless, 95 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Marc Lawless received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Byron Halford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
