Nial Trunks was a little too slow when Bart Sherwood got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 1-2. Bart Sherwood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Liverpool AFC booed when LEEDS UNITED was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeff Waite didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Sam Hargreaves came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Liverpool AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sam Hargreaves couldn't finish the play. The LEEDS UNITED fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Liverpool AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
